Mohegan Sun is exceptionally clean-and clean is very important to me. I went again twice over the Thanksgiving weekend and to me I found it to be even better than I remember it from previous times. It has been a long time since I've been to Mohegan Sun. I expected a much better response to this unfortunate problem. It was a terrible experience and a huge inconvenience. But what I am not tolerant of is the seemingly apathetic response by management to make things a lot better during my stay. So I suppose it's par for the course that this problem periodically exists. I realize that bed bugs can be carried into a hotel room unwittingly by guests because they often hang out on and in luggage, which is why you should never put your bags on a hotel bed. I asked for something to help with the itching and she instructed me to drive to CVS. I even showed the manager a photo of the bites all over my arms and she was not very sympathetic. I was at the hotel for 3 nights and spent most of the time in my room covered with itchy bug bites. All in all, this was a horrible experience. I was so frustrated by that point that I didn't say anything to management. When my suitcase and clothes arrived the next day, I noticed that some of the items were faded and some had shrunk, like my winter hat and gloves. I never found out how they handle insect infestations. I am surprised that a manager would not know the answer to this question. At the very least she could have looked into this for me. She said I'd have to speak to Housekeeping. I asked how that room would be treated to be sure they didn't spread to other rooms and she couldn't tell me. I received a phone call from the manager who informed that they checked my orginal room and confirmed that there were indeed bed bugs. So I stayed in my room and ordered room service, which set me back 30 dollars for a pizza. I couldn't walk around the casino in my sweatpants outfit because I looked like a slob. Since the shops ar Mohegan Sun are very expensive, the tshirt and sweats cost over 80 dollars! I had nothing to wear until the following afternoon. Since I was left with nothing to wear, the manager gave me some merchandise credits to buy a t shirt and sweatpants. I agreed and gave housekeeping my entire suitcase. Once I moved to the new room I was told by a manager that I could have my clothing sent to the cleaners. I actually had to wait around for a new room, and had to call downstairs again to ask about it. I found it very hard to believe that there was not a room I could move to in a timely fashion. Mohegan Sun has two hotels on the property and they have hundreds of rooms. She said I could switch rooms but it would be a while until one was ready. I called the front desk and the woman who answered did not seem overly concerned despite my description of the problem. I looked on the sheets and saw the tell-tale signs of bed bugs, which are tiny red and brown smear marks. However on this occasion I discovered that there were bed bugs in my room! I woke up after the first night in my hotel room and noticed bites all over my arms. The rooms are spacious and usually very clean. “As the premier entertainment destination in the Northeast, we are constantly looking for world-class partners to up the ante and deliver exceptional entertainment to our visitors - TAO is a brand that does just that, and we are excited to welcome them to the Mohegan portfolio.I have been to this casino and hotel many times.
